Showfer, Inc. ("Showfer," "we," "us," or "our") operates an on-demand platform that connects real estate agents who need showing coverage with licensed local agents available to perform those showings. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information about users of our website (showfer.me) and mobile application (collectively, the "Platform").
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated by your use of the Platform, and information from third parties.
- Account information: Name, email address, phone number, password, and account type (requesting agent or showing agent).
- Identity and license verification: Real estate license number, brokerage affiliation, state of licensure, and any documents required for identity verification.
- Location data: Precise GPS coordinates when you use the app with location services enabled. Location is used to match you with nearby jobs or agents and to provide navigation. You can disable location access at the device level, though core features will be limited.
- Payment information: Bank account or payout details for showing agents. Card information for requesting agents. Payment data is processed by our third-party payment processor and is not stored on our servers.
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, showing history, ratings given and received, in-app messages, and timestamps.
- Device information: Device type, operating system, IP address, browser type, and unique device identifiers.
- Communications: Emails or messages you send to our support team.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and verify your real estate license.
- To match requesting agents with available showing agents based on location, ratings, and availability.
- To process payments to showing agents and charge requesting agents.
- To send confirmations, reminders, and status updates about showings.
- To calculate and display ratings and performance metrics.
- To improve the Platform, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations, including real estate regulatory requirements.
- To send marketing communications where you have consented or where permitted by law. You can opt out at any time.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Between platform users: When a showing is matched, the requesting agent and the showing agent receive each other's names, contact information, and relevant showing details necessary to complete the appointment.
- Service providers: We use third-party vendors for payment processing, identity verification, cloud hosting, analytics, and customer support. These vendors are contractually bound to protect your data and may only use it to provide services to us.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information to comply with applicable law, regulation, court order, or governmental request, or to protect the safety of our users and the public.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Location Data
Location is central to how Showfer works. When you are actively using the app as a showing agent, your approximate location may be shared with the requesting agent so they can track the status of their showing. We do not track your location when the app is closed or when you are not actively engaged in a showing session.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Transaction records and showing history may be retained for up to seven years for tax, legal, and dispute-resolution purposes. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by contacting us at privacy@showfer.com. Certain records may be retained longer where required by law.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@showfer.com.
8. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and correction: You can view and update most account information directly in the app. Contact us if you need assistance.
- Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal data. We will fulfill your request subject to legal retention obligations.
- Marketing opt-out: Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or update your notification preferences in the app.
- Location: Disable location services for Showfer in your device settings. Note that some features will not function without location access.
- California residents: You have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and to opt out of any sale (we do not sell data). Contact us at privacy@showfer.com to exercise these rights.
9. Children's Privacy
Showfer is intended for licensed real estate professionals and is not directed at anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice in the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
